As of close of business today:

    40 C
    60 S

Is this a good time to buy in? We will just have to wait and see.

PS: A former co-worker once said that "when the Government "borrows" from the G fund to keep the Government from defaulting, we have lost the earnings that the G fund would have made forever. So I am going to try to stay out of the G fund until the Government gets the budget ceiling issue resolved once and for all."

I found this on G fund principle and interest being restored.
    From the TSP website:
G Fund and the debt limit — (March 16, 2017) As of today, March 16, 2017, the U.S. Treasury was unable to fully invest the Government Securities Investment (G) Fund due to the statutory ceiling on the federal debt. However, G Fund investors remain fully protected and G Fund earnings are fully guaranteed by the federal government. This statutory guarantee has effectively protected G Fund investors many times over the past 25 years. G Fund account balances will continue to accrue earnings and will be updated each business day, and loans and withdrawals will be unaffected.
If you click on the fully protected link above wii take you to the GAO report to Congress. Page 18 - Treasury Restored Uninvested Principal and Interest Losses as Authorized and Table #4 it explains reinvesting both principle and interest.
Unless they've changed the law without notifying us, we should be fully protected in G.

Since "S" fund is low, I would say its a good time to buy. "C" is still a bit high in my opinion, but it's your call. Good luck with that.

Well, I have a question about the "candles". When they are black does that mean heavy trading volume? When they are white does that mean light trading volume? Trying to get it firm in my brain.

Happy Cinco de Mayo coming soon!

That's a good article, Tsunami. The only thing I found missing was an explanation of red vs. black candles. I think this article clarifies that:
What's the deal with those colored candles?

(PIP) for the past 12 months ending 12/31/2017 is 14.44%.
Pleased with how the year ended.
    Starting the year 100 G.

It boggles my mind that retirees will take their funds completely out of the TSP upon retirement. With the help of TSP talk my TSP account is growing with no additional funds being infused.
I am fortunate to have been CSRS and do not need to rely on my TSP funds until sometime in the future.
My Vanguard advisers would like to get their hands on those funds, but I will leave them where they are for as long as I can.

Best wishes for another great year.
