A fellow could get seasick riding this market up and down. Glad to be on the lily pad for the time being. Seems all the rules are out the window.

why does Tom discourage allocations to the L funds along with the G,F,C,S and I funds? What is the advantage dispersing the allocations to every selection available?

At one time they didn't track the L funds on the autotracker so if you wanted to be tracked you had to limit yourself to the GFCSI funds. Also one of the points of this site is to be more active in managing your account and the L funds tend to be more accommodating to buy and hold mind set. But it doesn't really matter just do as you like, the L funds do just as well as the other funds on average. IMHO

It seems to have become a habit. One I wish we could break. Somebody have a body patch to attach to the S&P.
May the force be with us.

    Congressional Reform Act of 2010

    1. Term Limits.

12 years only, one of the possible options below..

    A. Two Six-year Senate terms
    B. Six Two-year House terms
    C. One Six-year Senate term and three Two-Year House terms

    2. No Tenure / No Pension.

A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.

    3. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security.

All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people.

    4. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.

    5. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

    6. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

    7. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.

    8. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/11.

The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves.

Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.

    6. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

Which health care system is this, I've never seen a generic American health care system. Each employer is different. Since the Federal Government is the employer in this case, it is the same health care system as the American people....you are stuck (or gifted) with whatever insurance your employer can get.

The rest I agree with BTW.

If one follows a particular stock trading concept, one should do what that particular stock trading concept indicates, otherwise one is cast into the stormy sea of uncertainty. It never ceases to amaze me how I refuse to follow the indicators and delude myself into thinking that I have somehow acquired some divine insight into the future of stocks and know what I am doing. What a fool I be!!!
