Can someone tell me when new purchases are made for additional shares? It appears to be about onceeach 2-week pay period, but exactly when? I don't suppose there is any way possible to control the timing of those purchases, but I seem to find that all too often, I find that "I've purchased" more shares at a such a time when the shares werefar too high!!! Sure, that's great for what I already hold, but my goodness ... I would rather purchase on a dip than at the 52-week high!!! Your insight will be much appreciated - and may God richly bless you and yours this Christmas Season.

Do like me and have all contributions go into the G fund. Then when your ready to buy, move that money where you want it!

Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle!!! I never thought of that!!! See, I'm learning on this board, already!!! Thanks, and MERRY CHRISTMAS to you.

(I'd stillbe interestedto know if anyone has an idea of the pattern or timeliness of those "automatic purchases".)

might depend on the details of the pay cycle in your particular workplace. but I think everyone can look at their own quarterly TSP statements online at the TSP website - that should show the dates your additional contributions are credited to a TSP fund. It will correlate to your pay day - or am I missing the point of your question....

Frankly, the older you get and the more money you accumulate in your account, the timing of the dollar cost averaging will be the least of your concerns. I just simply leave everything up to fate - it all works out fine over time.

No, you didn't miss the point. You pretty well have it nailed. I can access that information and probably determine the purchase dates, or at least a reasonable pattern of purchase. Thanks and MERRYCHRISTMAS.

Thanks, Birchtree, for your response. That makes sense to an old "codger" like me.
