Florida, Nevada and Washington sound good for retirees.
This year the first $37,000 [for a pension or annuity] you earn are not Georgia state taxable, I think next year they are doing away with State income tax, we will see. I had $840 taken out for 2014 and got it all back as a refund.

I don't get why people dress up their animals, the animals never look happy, but that is a cute picture of "his holiness" ... I betcha Pope Francis would take a selfie with his mini me. Very cute.

My supervisor at work must have 500 outfits for her little chihuahua. She is always taking pictures on her phone and shows them to us like a proud momma. I crack up, but it drives this one guy crazy at work. He goes bonkers when she shows him her dog's new outfits and then he threatens to go home sick. lol!

Hey! I just thought of something....is that a prerequisite to get in management ?! Hmmmm.... I must have missed that page on the 991.

Maybe this article will give you some more ideas for retirement opportunities. Personally....I'm going to stick it out come hell or high water in Hawaii. I like living on an Island. Is it expensive? Yep! But I'll manage. I'm not moving back to the madland if I don't have to.

Read through that article and I'm currently in Pennsylvania, looking to move to South Carolina/Georgia in a few years with my wife to continue our careers there. Nice seeing Columbia, SC on that.

You are so right, I guess dressing up the "four-legged family members" is more of a torture for them.
i wish I could afford an attire for my baby everyday of the year, unfortunately, he is butt naked 90% of the time.
now, I know how I can torture you, I'll send you a pic of my baby in costume everyday...LOL
If you missed the fine print of the 991, you are already disqualified.

    MC,

Don't know ! The term "Lower Alabama" is just an expression you see/hear around here. I actually DO live in Florida, but AL is close, both to the north and to the west....

I live outside of Columbia near Lake Murray in Lexington, SC. Don't move to Lexington County. Utilities like water and sewer are outrageous, as well as car taxes. If I have to water my lawn in the summer it is not uncommon to get a $300-$350 water/sewer bill for one month. And watering usually lasts from April through October, if it doesn't rain. Annual property taxes on a $40,000 vehicle for the first year are around $2500. It decreases every year thereafter but still high as a kite. Boats, motorcycles etc. are considered luxury items and property taxes are even higher than cars. House property taxes aren't real bad though, unless your home here is a second home - then the taxes are 5X normal. And if you live directly on the lake, which will cost you $500,000 up to several million, the property taxes are double. I would look in Richland County if you are serious about moving to Columbia, SC.
