well, it appears you've reached your "pain point", this is a good thing for a person to know about themselves, pain is the most effective teacher, very valuable lessons in that school. although -0.70% ytd, -1.16% day, or +0.39 month may not feel like such a great height to fall for some, it is different for everyone. or as my imaginary friend melissa etheridge puts it: "everybody's got a reason to abandon their plan". well, she's not really my friend, but i imagine we could be friends, same thing, precious pain.

same story as melissa on the 'imaginary friend' part there - i have lots of friends). and remember, there's always tomorrow, tomorrow, it's just a day away, but i forget which friend said that.

Thanks for the words of encouragement burro. You are right, -0.70% ytd, -1.16% day, or +0.39 month is not very far to fall. Since the beginning of the year, I have been in the market all but 10 days. So yes, yesterdays move was a knee jerk reaction to what has been a frustrating start. Markets are up this morning, which just rubs more salt into the wound. But I will be back. I just need a little time to regroup and rethink my strategy. At this point I'm feeling pretty beat up, so stepping away for a bit is probably a good thing. And as my imaginary friend tells me, "Let it roll off you like water off a ducks back".

Still haven't tapped into that bottle of Rye yet. It's sitting in my liquor cabinet patiently awaiting my return. Did you tap into yours yet? If so, how did you like it?

i cracked the seal within days of receiving it a few months ago, it made a satisfying "thunk". i've had exactly 3 short pour highballs (over three different nights within a couple weeks of each other) with lots of ice, i knew it was a dark witch's brew on first sight. if you've ever had absinthe or jägermeister then you know some concoctions have an unusual effect.

the first sip was like "oh yeah". the second was just to make sure the first one was real (it was). the third was a contest "can i beat it?" (can't).

so i put it away on the shelf. a potent medicine that bottle of rye, crafted for effect, almost pharmaceutical in nature. the good news is it will never spoil, could sanitize a biohazard site with it, will kill anything.

i like it better sitting on a high shelf than in a highball. with a glass of that who needs roofies?

here we go again, i feel the chemicals kickin in. it's its own animal.

Funny I was just thinking the same thing. Got a snow day today, so I am doing a little remodeling on my man cave, but keeping an eye on the markets. Yep, feeling much better about that knee jerk move today.

I had a feeling that your move to safety would work out well since I have been thinking of going to G today ahead of the planned tariff announcement Friday but they are announcing it today. This is too much uncertainty so I finally got out and went 100%G today. I want to avoid the possibility of a re-test of the February lows. Hopefully this won't be too bad and I can get back in again before the end of the month!

I feel for you as you got slammed pretty hard today. Now that you are out, hopefully we hit that February low (2581 on 2/8/18) soon and you can get back in and make up today's loss. I am out of IFT's for March and will need to wait until April before I can make a move. Not in any hurry though as I am enjoying the break and I'm sleeping much better.
