So the market decided to treat us to this on the last trading day of 2017...
The time to get a hot hand is going into the playoffs. Hope they do well. Time for some new blood in the SB. Maybe a Ravens - Saints SB? I'm a Cowboys fan primarily, but they need some work. Time to dump Dez Bryant's whining a$$ in the offseason and go after a better option at receiver.

Well......DEJA VU;swear ....What a hugely disappointing showing by the defense. 4th and 15(?) and you let them get 50?! Only job is to keep everyone in front of you! They even had like a 43 minute break cause they were barely on the field for the 2nd half. Granted , the receivers (said loosely) were dropping passes left and right in the 1st half. But...Joe brought em back and again...2 minutes is too much.
Oh well.Hopefully the market won't disappoint!
As disappointing as it was, I am not surprised. We have always had a tough time with the Bengals, no matter what the record is. Two of the things they needed most going into last year's draft was a number one receiver and offensive line help. We never did draft a wide receiver (every time the Ravens came up and JuJu Smith-Shuster was still on the board, we passed) Finally in the 4th round they addressed the offensive line but in the later rounds, those players are projects at best and both guys we took ended up on injured reserve.
So my feeling going into the 2017 season was 6 and 10 and third place in the AFC North. They finished 9 and 7 and in second place so they did better than I thought. Oh well, the market fizzled on the last trading day of the year and my Ravens fizzled as well. Mighty Casey has struck out.

Year in review.
In 2017 I had three goals. 1 - Tweak my investment strategy 2 - Cut down on the number of negative trades 3 - Have a positive return in 2017
So all 3 goals were accomplished. I managed to tweak my investment strategy of which I named it my crystal ball. Yes it let me down a few times, but no strategy is perfect. The strategy did help me to accomplish 2 and 3. On the second I had a total of 26 trades, 4 of which were negative. A minus 0.10% in March, a minus 0.88% in April, a minus 0.38% in August and a minus 0.06% in September. And my 3rd goal of having a positive return for 2017, I ended the year at 13.52%, which is my best year since retiring in 2011.
So for 2018, stick to my strategy, keep the negative trades to a minimum and end the year with another positive return.
Good luck everyone in 2018!!!

Still reeling from that game. Rough year to be a Ravens fan. Was a tough pill to swallow but hopefully lessons will be learned. My only saving grace this week is I still have the Alabama to watch one more time. Roll Tide!

Well it's after 11:00 pm and TSP.gov has yet to post today's closing prices. Guess we're not going to get them today...bummer.

Enjoying a second day off as school's are closed again today. Woohoo!!!
Regarding the markets, my current mix of 40% S fund, 60% I fund is paying off nicely. However this little voice in my head keeps saying don't get greedy. Perhaps it's that wall of worry I hear so much about. So unless something drastic happens this afternoon, it looks like we will have another great day in the market. With that said, the first five days of 2018 are awesome as we set new high after new high.
My crystal ball says C, S and I are all good. The F fund, not so much. So for now I will keep my current allocation at least through the 10th and then re-evaluate at that time.
Good luck everyone and happy investing!!!

Well the little voice in my head that kept telling me not to get greedy finally won out, so I submitted my first IFT of 2018 to 100% G fund, effective COB today.
It has been a heck of a run, up 8 of the last 9 days, but that can't last forever. So I am anticipating weakness. I still have one IFT for January and will save that to buy the next dip.
Good luck everyone with your investments!!!

Second IFT for January submitted. 100% C Fund, effective COB 19 Jan, 2018.
Tomorrow should be a down day as the Senate takes up the budget battle, but in the end, they kick the can down the road and the market continues higher.
Good luck everyone...
