Ha! I didn't 'get into trading' until the mid-90's.

I witnessed the dotcom and circa 2008 crashes. During the dotcom crash, I was active in the MyTrack chat forums. It was an experience witnessing folks melt-down, real-time, via the chat rooms. History repeats. Not 'if;' but 'when.' GL to us all.

I just realized I have a trade deficit with Amazon.com. Not fair!

So how do we cure this problem? Is this a natural change of the process of retail sales or should it be limited to allow folks to pay more at the local stores?

First make amazon pay for shipping. The issue I see is if you need something now, right now, a nearby store is necessary. Auto parts stores are giving big discounts for online orders for local pick up at their stores, which is a compromise, but ultimately hurts the sales person. It will come down to market forces, but the government needs to stay out of the free market (not underwriting shipping; requiring sales tax for online sales for equal playing fields).

I use Amazon all the time, have one arriving tomorrow. The reason is that I get a better deal and don't have to burn gasoline to hop down to the local store and then they don't have the item I want or it's 20% more expensive, not to mention State taxes of 7% sometimes. I don't make the laws the AHOLES in DC do. Is that Free Market Capitalism?moneytree.gif
