I have tried many strategies. Some work, some don't. The most important thing to being consistent is spending a good deal of time paying attention to market indiciators.

My strategy, when I have time to pay attention to the market, has been to put all my money, 50/50 into the C & S funds whenever the DOW is negativeby $25 or more by 11:30am EST. Then, expecting the next day to turn up, "bounce" --I poise for 100% in the G by 11:30 am ESTif the DOW is up at all.

It's crude, but has netter me some results. Of course, once you put in your interfund change request, there's nothing you can about it after 12:00 am EST. Your kind of committed at that point. If the market turns the opposite direction, then I think you can still cancel your transfer before 4:00pm EST. But, again, who has that kind of time to pay so much attention and still do government work.

I went 50/50 in the C &S on before noon on Wednesday, a day that the markets were all headed south. I got in on the low side, just like all the experts say. Yesterday the market was headed south all day, but who could've know there'd be a turnaround. Based on yesterdays turnaround, I will headback to the sidelines today, taking what I can off of todays bounce. I'm expecting a positive day today. But, if all the numbers are negative before noon, I will cancel my interfund transfer back to the "G".

Here's to maximizing our profits and minimiziung our losses! Have a good day.

Welcome mike-n-bon to the board. I''m part of the official Welcoming Committee.

Just kidding. I'm not on any committee. Seriously, I'm very interested in your above statement. Can you tell me what makes you 'think' that one can cancel a transfer before 4 PM? If this were true, it would be new and extremely valuable information.

Hi Wonder Woman. It's not a "lock". I think when I have seen, it was more a stroke of luck. To request the interfund transfer, to be effective on the evening (after the markets close) of the same day, you must submit your interfund transfer before noon EST. I have seen the cancel button remain available up to 4pm EST -- I don't know why, but it has been there.

So far today I have been right. The market is bouncing up. I have already put in my interfund transfer, taking my profits (if it holds till market close) with me. As of this evening I'll be back in the sideliness in the "G" fund. If the market is pitching back down in Monday, then I will repeat my process.

I rarely ever mess with the "F" or "I" fund these days. I have had a bad experience with them both, so I avoid them now. Maybe someday I'll forgive them and use them again.

Markets are moving up nicely today, but I am the sidelines today, 100% G". I honestly expected a correction today. Maybe it will "correct" tomorrow.
