I was thinking of buying DUST yesterday when it hit 17.55 but hesitated at the end. Will see what it does at the end of the day.

I'm not looking to play DUST anytime soon. Gold has been basing for the better part of a year and the upside potential far outweighs further downside risk. If gold begins a sustained rally from these levels, you can expect a 500-1000% rally in NUGT via multiple forward splits. I'm loading up on CEF and other non-leveraged gold products for the next few years. With the FED shutting down QE programs, I suspect we will see more buyers of precious metals, especially considering how good of a bargain they are. I don't condone buying and holding NUGT. Scaling in/out is the least stressful way of playing these vehicles and allows for a decent margin of error with regard to price levels. I've used this strategy with great success over the past 2 years. One thing to note is the importance of risk management. Don't overleverage yourself chasing the gains I have enjoyed. The profits flow easily is you abide by a simple set of rules. Getting greedy will cost you, as these 3X products can bleed quickly, almost as bad as the VIX ETF's. Using 10-20% of account value in 4-5 lot increments can drastically increase overall portfolio gains. My total portfolio value is up around 20% YTD thanks to this strategy without having to agonize through huge drawdowns of 20%+ on bad trades. If you risk it all following one strategy sooner or later you will feel the pain, as every strategy is destined to fail or underperform at some point.

I was thinking the same thing after they were talking about the sell off after hours. But I was too late, it was already after 5.
