Hi, Had lots of fun last night. Stoplight, I sang Blue Bayou! Yes ...hit every note including the last high note. So its still within my current range. I was able to keep it extended and stayed in tune throughout. Hard to do now as I am not the blowhard I once was!!! Lol... You can send me the big "rock" next week!!

I wanted to sing Magic Man too, but could not as the place got crowded early and it was taking up to 1.5 hours between songs and we got there late and because I can no longer hit the super high notes that Heart sings in Magic Man towards the end....background ooooowwwww, ooooow wooo woooo ooooouuu. I tried it before going out. If I do sing it someday, I"ll need to bring that background part down an octave, which is doable since its not part of main lyrics. Ive probably lost about 1-2 of my highest notes but might get them back if I practice at home. I also sang Hit Me With Your Best Shot, Pat Benatar.

It was a weird night because usually the oldies are sung early in the evening and as it gets later and packed, the younger crowd arrives and everyone starts singing very upbeat, current songs and the shake your booty type songs. I was going to sing Before He Cheats by Carrie Underwood but it got too late.

Last night, it seemed to be oldies night as young people were singing things like Sinatra's New York, New York; Heart's -Alone; James Brown's -I Feel Good, Patsy Cline's Crazy, etc.... And songs I did not know, up until we left around midnight. So I sang Blue Bayou around 11pm and oddly it fit right in. It was very well received.

Did you know that Linda Rondstadt can no longer sing?? Thats so sad. She has had Parkinson's disease since 2012.

I also like Edie brickell's song. I love her laid back vocal style.

One of the best things I love about singing is that if you sing in the same style as the singer, keeping every subtle inflection and yet varying it at certain points with your own feeling and style, you can feel and really get into the great emotion of the song and can feel how the artist felt as they sang or played it! Just getting so emotionally connected and blowing it away is a great physical and emotional release. Huge stress reliever...both music and song is awesome and does wonders for the well-being of your soul!!!

DWCPF (S fund) - Weekly chart going back 5 years. interesting. Notice how tight the Bollingers have gotten. I think I will watch from the sidelines a little longer.

The 5 week EMA has crossed below the 8 week EMA and looks like it may move further down. Any entry in August will likely be a very short term 2-3 day play if the daily indicators are just right. Just still seems very risky. Moving down for a few weeks now and tight.

Best Wishes to everyone on your investments!!!!!!!

AWESOME post, DBA ! You REALLY hit and held that last high note ? WOW ! You still got some chops !!!

Did NOT know about Linda...so sad...I got to looking up that song...I thought it was written by the Eagles, but it turns out it was Roy Orbison (R.I.P) and another guy !!! I'll bet he never had trouble hitting that note ! I wasn't a fan of his, until the "Traveling Wilburys"...gotta love a band with Tom Petty and all those guys in it !

RE: that big "rock" : Well, I'm not in to polygamy, and the Wife sez "Well, okay...but I get a BIGGER "rock" , because I've had to put up with you a LOT longer !!! " Dang...I can't afford 1 Wife, let alone 2 !!! Guess I'll have to renege on that promise !

    Keep belting 'em out !!!

Not much that looks appealing in equities right now....monthly charts and weekly charts for further down trend. Daily charts meandering sideways. Maybe next week... Seems market needs better news. Sitting still!

Good article on .25% possible Fed rate increase in September. Interview with Bill Gross, JanusCapital. Interesting to not his last few points on deflationary forces for U.S. caused by continued foreign currency drops.

Hi, With todays great day I thought to jump in for a few days if price drops some on Tuesday, but decided against it.

Looking at weekly charts I still do not like it. Seems very risky. Its moving very tightly sideways ..one week up and the next down, and with very tightened Bollinger Bands for both the SPX and DWCPF. Unusually tight BBs...looking at this 5 year chart, the last time it was that tight was July 2011 before large drop. It looks like it will do something big but what??

Also, the 5 week EMA weekly is below the 8 week and all converging with the 18 week EMA. MACD line not sloped up. So at best it appears to be a very short play. Will see if better opprtunity arises later in month. But it is playing with me... Trying to draw me in. Ugghhh...patience! Will see if I can hold up in G.

Best wishes to everyone on your investments!!!!!!!!!

No thanks. I am going to get it "tuned" up at a guitar shop though. I'm guessing it is worth about $2500 but really have no idea.

I think you should sing "Muskrat Love" by the Captain and Tenille. Damn, I almost choked on my coffee.

Ahhhh...man!! You just made me spew my coffee!!

But luckily I immediately remembered another song and got that other song out of my head...thank you Lord!!

I remembered.... "Loving You" by Minnie Riperton.

Can't say I liked that song either, but I have always been amazed by the "whistle" register. Uhhh.. But I do prefer hearing Mariah Carey for that.

. ... Wish I could hit that whistle register at the end of song!
