Might this be a good alternative or option to investing directly in energy stocks?

I'm catching a few energy nibbles today: HP, HAL, FCX. There is still a huge amount of skepticism about the equity market rally. I'm thinking we'll have a third speculative phase. Yup, the bull market no one but bulldaddy believes in.

It was the week that was and the month was even worse. Here is how my oceanic acted this week: +$76K, -$31K, -$138K, +$68K, -$83K for a not so pleasant give back of -$108K. I'm going to build some cash next week and start dollar cost averaging some of my weaker positions. I just can't stanz it no more - I need more commodities now that they are so cheap. I'll be buying steel, oil, coal and a few other favorites that are being given away. I've waited long enough and I need more pain for 2015.
Drill baby drill.
11.80% for 2012, 24.79% for 2013, -5.13% for 2014 , 4.94% for 2015 WTF?, -0.04% for 2016 , 13.09% for 2017======= 8.23% , Moved to Vanguard in 2018
Hi Birchtree, I've never heard you like this...you actually sound a little bummed. But hey... 2015 will be an awesome year!! Start buying tons of those wallflowers you love. I sometimes think you buy stock to make you feel happy......kinda like when I go clothes shopping!! Best wishes!!
P.S. I love these new moving thing-a-ma-jigs!! I'm going to use them everywhere!!

I don't think rates are going up this year, but if they do a one and done I have no fear of the Fed. The S&P 500 has risen in most periods when the Federal Reserve boosts interest rates. For example back in Dec. 2003 - July 2007 the gain was 46.9% Also Oct. 1986 - Sept. 1987 the gain was 43.4%. There are other periods of gains but I don't want to bore you. Well alright, one more for fun. July 1961 - Nov. 1966 saw a gain of 47.5% I'd be buying all the energy I can right now.
The sweet smell of bull tinky, mmmmm
My notes tell me that on Jan. 7 BT posted a few beaten-down oil plays that held his interest.You should have paid attention, because, this has been going on since:
EPE up 42.5%, TPLM up 36.6%, SGY up 9.3%, OAS up 18.0%, LPI up 53.1%, CPE up 27.2%, CWEI up 16.6%, and SN up a whopper 79.5%.
The lone looooser of the bunch, GDP, and the ONE from this list that I picked to buy, is down 17.5%.
I dumped all my oil/energy stocks today in hopes that they’ll settle a bit, and give me nicer prices before the next run up.
I finally scratched up some spill money to throw away and I'm buying: CLF, MT, MCP, SD, CVO, MTG, MDR, CNHI, BAS, KEG, AKS. I still have a few dollars remaining and they'll go soon into more energy.
I'm trying to scrape up a few dollars from my "Chippendale Dancin Gig" to purchase some NBR and/or SPN! I'm very bullish on these two. I'm comfortable with the decision to purchase HAL a few weeks ago!!
I'm dumping a little more of my spill money and buying: ACI, ANR, WEN, CBI, SVU, KOL, NFX, FTR. So many wall flowers want to participate as the bull continues to rampage. No body really wants these wall flowers but bulldaddy takes them in for safety. And I can always use a write off if necessary.
