    grandma,

Your topic reminded me of a jury duty I participated in two years ago.

I sat down in the GeneralJury Hall, a room that looked like it could seat 300 or so.

The person running the show thensaid tous: "Can anybody nothear me? If anyone can't hear me, please raise your hand."

Well, no one raised their hand....

grandma, thanks for thinking of me. I do a lot of lurking. There is so much to learn. I have wondered where pr and dd have been as well. I saw pr lurking though the other day. I too have wondered where those two have been. I have been making money though!

However, I do notice you two made a point of Not discussing %'s !!!

My timing has been good lately. I am at an all time high. I don't expect any opportunities in stocks in Feb. I think this year generally will be good for stocks. I have been 100% F since Monday. Tom's comments have been very helpful by the way. They have caused me to veer toward cap preservation these recent weeks. My gains have not been spectacular but I've had few losses to make up in the last 6 weeks because I've been cautious.
Note however, I hate caution :U. Much more exciting when we are on an up-swing.
    Thanks for asking.

Need to proof read my posts! That's not what I meant. I meant this year bears will prevail but there will be opportunities here and there. I made money in stocks on the recent Iraqi elections for example. I expect that the dollar will not continue to rally and look forward to making some money in the I fund this year. If I have a 'formula' it is to look at Tom's allocation and scale it back a little (make it a little more conservative). No offenseTom, Ijust have a lower risk tolerance threshold than you.

I guess you can say I am a silent member. I became a member a couple of months ago but I have not postingyet because I really do not know much about the stock market. Ijust started out in the government last year.I have allocated the max of 15% in my TSP and probably have about a full thirty years before I retire. Since I just started I am going to have allot of questions about stock trends and charts???

The firstcouple of months I am probably going to have allot of questions and I hope you guys can explain them to me. So far I have been followingall of the members comments and make a decision from what I think makes sense.I am not a type that buys and hold. I believe that with the right amount of information a investor could make a good profit. I have allot of room tomake mistakes since I am just startingso I am probably going to be a much bigger risk taker then most. If I make a mistake I give anyone permission to correct me as I am probably wrong I am just here to learn and hopefully make some money in return.

    Welcome, tennisguy!

Yes, you have plenty of time to play, learn, and own your portfolio.
