Thread: Jkenjohnson's Account Talk

    Default Jkenjohnson's Account Talk

I am going to begin posting the signals that I used from my own system prior to subscribing to a premium service to see how well I compare. I thought I could get better results from a premium service and abandoned my own system. I will post a buy S&P 500 or short S&P 500 signal before the market opens. Since we can't short the TSP, a short signal would equate to a sell and subsequent entry into the G or F fund. If I had used my previous signal and bought in on the morning of October 7, 2011, I would have been up about 6.65% at the end of the day yesterday. My current signal is buy, but I would hold until the next sell signal. I will start using the TSP tracker to track my moves for the TSP and keep track of my Roth on this thread.
    Is today Saturday again?

So are you going to follow your system 100% or are you going to track it separatly to see it's performance. Some use trading systems just a guides or 1/3 of their trade desicisions.
Don't bias your charts. Show support and resistance. My comments and charts are not trading recommendations.

Don't know if I will follow it 100% yet. But based on past performance, I probably will within the near future. The TSP tracker will track my moves, which may not necessarily coincide with my system. By the way, it looks like my system will lose some gains again today.

I changed my mind. The tracker will exactly follow my sysytem performance. I will begin posting to the tracker the next time I get a buy signal or go to the G or F fund.

Maybe you could trak both. Maybe Tom will let you do JJSYS on the tracker too.

Ok I did not too well yesterday (crazy Greeks are at it again - going to vote on whether they want to be bailed out or not?????) but I am still up 3.67% for the S&P and I backchecked the Russell 2000 (similar to the S fund) and the return on it is 6.67%. These values are since October 7, 2011. System is still on buy, but I am holding for the next short signal.

All I am going to say is that it is based on volatility and trending up or down. Sorry, but I'm not going to be more specific.

I noticed that buy signal was yesterday before the cuttoff time? Several went in yesterday on a 2nd big down day in a row, today futures are up so it seems that would've been a good call by your system.
Just a lil o'l fishegg floatin around in this big ocean!

We'll see. One good move doesn's prove a system is good. I am excited about seeing how well or poorly it does. It has been right about 70% of the time in the past. Is that good?

Are you going to post your buy/sell signals here prior to the deadline? That would be awesome. And yes, 70% is really, really good.

Yes I will post them here. If I don't post on any particular day, it means the signal has not changed. I am stretching it a little here by trying to work and post every day. Sometimes while travelling I may not post on the day(s) the signal does not change. One more note, if you sell short on a short signal (like in an IRA) you can make a lot more money. I'm not sure I will do any 3xETF's until I am sure the system will work in this volatile trading market.
