    Default parameters

exstenvise research has proven that the market trading and gambling methods that contain about 4 simple rules or less are the most successful. the reason may be that there is a lower probability that the factors that make each parameter effective will change in a negative way over the long term . another point i would like to present for comment is that when you create a profitable investment method with a few simple rules it is easier to determine the value and significance of each rule, and the synergy of the rules together. i am a new member and i appreciate this group because no one of is as intelligent as all of us .

Welcome to the Message Board Steve d!! Do you have a method, and if you do how is it doing? Systems come and go on the MB, some work in a down trend, some work in an up trend, some work with high voiltility, some are long some are short, but in a Market like this all seem to have flaws.

    Nice statement.

Have you picked out 4 indicators/rules to follow?

I would like to be as wise as possible too!
If I'm curt with you it's because time is a factor. I think fast, I talk fast and I need you guys to act fast if you wanna get out of this. So, pretty please... with sugar on top. Post the IFT!!!

sorry jth my response was directed to you and i referred previously to you as tom. i learned about the simplicity of effective rules and limiting parameters from a friend who researched with a statistician who was very successfull in his investing for a period of 20 years .i am sure that statistics books would cover this subject. best of luck jth, and enjoy the holidays.you asked a very important question, and i would like to find a specific and valid answer for you .

Hi steve d ! You've been silent awhile - hopefully you are finding some research info to share with us! Keep your posting up, share where you are in the funds! And when you are eligible, get on the tracker! My excuse for getting to drink the whole pot of coffee, is that I have to keep track of who is doing what - and since it is only 9 deg outside, something minus windchill, I, naturally, have to keep warming up my cup..
(And I admit my cold is probably just `cool' to you upper staters !!)
    GL where-ever you are !!
