    Default never really introduced myself

Helping my wife who been with the feds for 40 years this January (FERS). She's an attorney with SSA and I can't get her to quit. She says alot of her friends who have retired are no longer with us so she likes disciple (she certainly keeps me in line.)

About me I went in the Marine Corps at 17 years old. Served in the Korean War. After a tour in Vietnam got out in 68 (Norfolk fmflant 3rd batt 5th marines) as a Lieutenant Colonel. While in the corp took some courses along the way and got a degree. Received a masters in History from William and Mary in 71 thought about teaching but a Marine Corp buddy clued me in to the stock market which I already had an interest in. Went to work for Wheat First Securities in Richmond, Va. for 3 years and switched to Merrill Lynch for 14 years and got out in 91. Have a guy in Chicago managing most of my investments. I would rather golf, travel and see the kids. But I play around with the speculative money somewhat and the wife's tsp.

I don't do websites too much but this one seems to have the right attitude and direction - let's make money (at this point I'm investing from my kids and grandkids perspective.)

Sounds like a great American story.

Do tell about the dog, and the Danish flag.

nice to meet you new guys hopefully I can learn some new stuff from you or maybe, I have learned enough from theis forum to help your thoughts on the markets. Go green be cautious and stay on top of the action everyday. Fortunately there is a bull market somewhere, but unfortunately we are limited with our tsp program Good luck new guys and welcome to a place that started small and got huge thanks to tom and everyone that truely contributes thier thoughts. There are some smart people here. You have to think of how many years you have to work, and how much risk you can afford to take. a lot of hard work and sometimes some luck. God Bless

Welcome to our TSPTalk forums. I see you retired with 22 years service in the U.S. Army. I also served over ten years in U.S. Army Signal Corps. We can use your words of wisdom and encouragement.

I can set you up with an "whtOOss Account" and/or "whtOOss Account Talk" threads. Posting your wife's TSP allocations and trades to the account would add it to the Weekly Tracker. This tracker is a TSP returns calculator that I manage for TSPTalk. This is an offer to track your wife’s TSP return, and discuss the strategy of trading and fund allocations of your wife's TSP account. Some members just have the account talk thread to discuss strategies, and prefer not to be tracked in the Weekly Tracker. It’s not required of members. The rules we follow can be found in my signature under Tracker Rules.

Thumbs up Re: never really introduced myself

I appreciate all the nice greetings. I breed chowchows now and got my first one from a breeder in Denmark so they get the credit.

Please don't confuse us Marine grunts with you Army guys. No harm no foul. Just joking. I'm sure it was just an honest mistake.

Good luck to everyone in reaching their investing goals and thanks again for the welcome.

Thanks for sharing that white! Sounds like we can benefit from your experience.

PS - I still have my dad's uniform and rifle from the Korean War. He died about 40 years ago and that's about all I have left of his from those days.
