Thread: Hello TSP World

    Post Hello TSP World

Hello TSP World, on a day the world was supposed to end...

This is my VERY FIRST POST and my first interaction with TSP Talk. I am retired Air Force and have been in Civil Service for about 8 years. I'll be honest, I feel REAL DUMB for not knowing about TSP Talk and taking control of my account from DAY 1! A very good friend told me about it a month ago. The strategies you guys/gals share and use have already paid dividends in just my first month of transferring allocations. Thank You...

Real quick about my user name. I have 13 year old twin boys who play travel soccer at a very high level and they are basically draining my short term savings for love of the game. Travel costs (gas/hotels) training fees, tournaments, etc. can get real expensive real quick! But we truly do love it and they will likely play the game in college and maybe beyond. So it is somewhat of an investment in them. Anyway, my TSP4Soccer efforts are to make sure I am not in the poor house after retirement and an investment in my future while distributing my current liquid funds across the country playing soccer!

May everyone have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year! See you on the other side of the cliff! I hope!!!

TSP4soccer, Welcome aboard. This is a great place to learn.

I understand your soccer enthusiasm. I coached girls rec soccer for 8 years and coached/managed a girls high school team for 7 years. Good luck.

Welcome and thank you for your service (I'm Air Force too)!

I see you have your hands full with twins and are actively a great parent by endorsing and supporting their efforts.....Take the information here and train them early, so when they make the big bucks, they'll know what to do with their money.

Welcome and thanks for hanging out after the end of the world...

Great picture RMI. But I forgot to mention that I was Air Force also.

TSP4Soccer welcome to the message board. Markets going crazy today at least some of us are sane.
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and best of luck with your TSP.

Welcome. Most of us started out feeling dumb but after reading and learning about the market and our TSP here, we have almost all benefited and improved the third leg of our retirement package while having fun doing it.

Again welcome and have a wonderful, safe, and warm Holiday season. A little rum in the eggnog will help with that cliff ride - won't even notice it...

I missed the eggnog but we had a division happy hour at a McCormick's and Schmick's last night. The Long Island iced tea and margarita helped some.

Welcome TSP4Soccer! Thanks for joining us, and thanks to your friend for telling you about us.

I am about a year removed from being on the baseball circuit with my son and I know how you feel, except you have it times 2.

Best of luck and if you have any questions...

Welcome TSP4Soccer. Believe me, on days like today there are many on here who second guess themselves (I knew I should've bailed yesterday ). Easy come, easy go...but we just try to enjoy ourselves on here and learn as much as we can. Best of luck in 2013!
