    Default Super Bowl XLIV

I had predicted that San Diego would win the Super Bowl this year, but I have never been so glad to be wrong.

    J-E-T-S - Jets! Jets! Jets!

    Who's your pick?

Since my Chargers lost, effing Kaeding choked AGAIN in post season play, I think the Saints might take it. I think it will be a Saints-Colts superbowl this year.
    ¿Tiene suerte, Baboso?

The Jets will rattle Peyton's bones and teach them a lesson for taking the last game off and letting them in the playoffs. Peyton's after game presser will have ref's to protection problems and he will throw the O-line under the bus tactfully. Then 2 weeks later The Vikings will kill the Jets in the most boring Super Bowl since the Bears crushed the Patriots. And no Favre won't retire either. Not until he is season ending injured during a game and cant play.

The market is like a wheelbarrow- it stands still until someone pushes it. Little help here.

Farve was quite impressive this weekend. Will he be next weekend?
    Time will tell.

Here’s my thoughts...Jets aren't that good. Manning will have no problem. For me its hard to bet against Manning. When he is on, he’s unstoppable. They will march down the field and score every time.

I have been rooting for the Vikings and Saints throughout the season. This should be a great game! I would like to see Vikings win. I respect Farve and still follow a few of the Sooners that now play there. I believe the Saints are better rounded team and will probably win. Brees is an excellent QB who is getting better and better each year.

So I think it will be Colts and Saints. I would like the Saints to win, but wouldn't bet against Manning!

Let me just defend my beloved Jets, with a completely biased analysis.

The Jets have the best defense in the NFL having given up about 14+ points a game. Other than a late TD scored against the prevent defense trying to run out the clock, the Jets held the high powered Chargers offense to just 7 points for the first 57 minutes.

The Jets had the best running game in the NFL. They can control the ball and keep Manning off the field, provided they stay in the game early.

Their weakness is the QB position, but having won 7 of their last 8, the coaches have been able to hold the reigns on Sanchez by only allowing him to throw high percentage passes, and the strong running game has allowed him to throw at will using short, play action passes. He was 12 of 15 against the Bengals in the 1st playoff game.

As long as the Jets stay within 7 to 10 points, they have a very good chance to win this game. If the Colts jump on them early, or if the Jets can't run the ball for some reason, it will be very difficult for them to make a big comeback with the young QB.

They beat every AFC division winner, S.D., Indy, N.E., and Cincy twice. They also only gave up 7 defensive points in a loss against New Orleans earlier this year, but Sanchez fumbled in the end zone and the special teams gave up a TD to blow the game. As I said, Sanchez won't take those chances any more.

This will be a lot like the Patriots / Giants Super Bowl game where the Pats came in as 14 point favorites, but the Giants' D and running game controlled the game and beat the heavily favored Pats.

    Jets 23 - 16

Me too..been watching and pulling for them ever since Adrian Peterson was picked by the Vikings...But the opposing defenses sure cover him up in a hurry..he hardly gets a chance to do his magic in open field....I was raised on the Packers since the Vince Lombardi days, but I guess I followed Favre to the Vikings..

    Buster,

I love seeing in the corner of the screen, after Farve throws a pass or handoff, Phil Loadholt standing in the screen with Farve. Just seeing it reminds me of him, Duke Robinson and Bradford. It brings a smile to my face every time!

Did you see Favre when he threw that deep pass for a TD (it was beautiful) when they beat the snot out Dallas last weekend?..I thought for sure he was gonna get a penalty for excessive celebrating..LOL
