Using "loose", when meaning "lose"

Maybe we will see our own mistakes and learn from it. I have a guy who emails me when he catches gramatical mistakes in my commentary. That could be a fulltime job for him.

Okay I got you - but this one is a hard one ! If I think:
"when you lose your penchant for Lottery Tickets, the loss will loosen those monies for Banana Splits, and you will know you're making headway....(verified by the Cardiologist's scales.)" So loose the noose of the icecream AND the lottery !.....
