I had one of those Trojans a while ago and went to the Symantec site and they had instructions to clean it up. I followed the instructions, and ended up having to format the HD and reload Vista 64. I'm no beginner here, but that Vista is a real trip. I'm getting really good at the Format/Reinstall method. computer4.gif

Yeah I remember when that happened..I think I had just caught the Antivirus-360 bug too..So after I rebuilt my hard drive, I cloned it to another Hard Drive and now I have a perfect image (less the recent updates) ready to go...

I've always heard that MACs are less susceptable to internet born viruses..because most the A-holes that create the bugs are on PC machines..so it is written, so it shall be..

I also now use AVG..best one out there for PC type computers for the money IMO.

I use VMware....When I get a computer, I load VMware and take a snapshot of the computer.

    This is my baseline.

Then I restart my computer, open up my WMware clone and use it.....When I load all my apps...I take another snapshot.

Then I go to the internet and update all my software straight from the Vendor.

Then I take another snapshot and I'm done......I use a clone of the complete system....NOW, when a virus or trojan hits.....I just close the clone.....create a new clone and use that.......

No more tape/cd/dvd backups and it rocks.....oh use an external hardrive for documents, spreadsheets, etc......

But you don't understand my point of view...I suppose there's nothing I can do..Did you stand by me?

I've used Zonealarm for years. Seems to be working well for me, though they have become as bulky as Norton over the years.
    ¿Tiene suerte, Baboso?
