Good News

I've received good news yesterday. I was on my way to work. (about 3 p.m.) I work 4 to midnight. I noticed that i had a voicemail on my cell. I call it and it's my warden wanting to me to call him or stop by his office before assuming my post. I have to admit i was a bit concerned that the warden wanted to talk to me. Not that I've done anything wrong but to me the less the higher up's want to talk the better. So anyways, i figured i'd call so i don't have to waste time going to his office. He informed me that USP McCreary called and wanted to pick me up as an GS-8 Officer. I was shocked. I did put in the paperwork but really never thought i would get selected. This comes as a blessing as currently i'm 8 hours away from home now. Moving to McCreary would put me only 3 hours out. The Warden congradulated me and told me the captain would contact me with a report date. I'm still pretty much in shock over this.

What step will you be picked up as?

Yes it's a promotion. I'm not sure i believe a step 3. Thank you guys.

Congrats on the promotion, plus the reduction in driving distance means more time with the family, not to mention some extra change in your pocket.
