    Default Just a personal observation

Just a personal observation... as I watched the news coverage of the massive flooding in the Midwest with the levee's about to break in Fargo, ND, what amazed me is not what we saw, but what we didn't see...

    1. We don't see looting...
    2. We don't see street violence...
    3. We don't see people sitting on their rooftops waiting for the government to come and save them...
    4. We don't see people waiting on the government to do anything...
    5. We don't see Hollywood organizing benefits to raise money for people to rebuild...
    6. We don't see people blaming President Obama...
    7. We don't see people ignoring evacuation orders...
    8. We don't see people blaming a government conspiracy to blow up the levees as the reason some have not held...
    9. We don't see the US Senators or the Governor of North Dakota crying on TV...
    10. We don't see the Mayors of any of these cities complaining about the lack of state or federal response...
    11. We don't see or hear reports of the police going around confiscating personal firearms so only the criminal will be armed...
    12. We don't see gangs of people going around and randomly shooting at the rescue workers...
    13. You don't see some leaders in this country blaming the bad behavior of the North Dakota flood victims on "society" (of course there is no wide spread reports of lawlessness to require excuses)...

Interesting isn't it......Has the president even acknowledged this crisis? Maybe Mrs. Obama can sell her clothes on ebay and donate to the diaster relief fund
Just trying to be a good steward of what God has blessed me with.

Very good point, it's like bHo has forgotten all about them. hmmm Some people are more self reliant than others.

Be careful--Just because you don't hear about it on the news doesn't mean it isn't happening. As an example, we are fighting 2 wars right now and both national and local news broadcasts decided to not report on either last night instead giving time to the latest plight of octomom. But there certainly are 2 wars going on.

Reality check: the situation in ND is a far stretch from the crowded urban area of New Orleans...

And you're point? Since when has a politican failed to get face time when Americans are fighting disasters, though this one seems to be very self absorbed and gaining as much power as possible.

And my point is the political animal doesn't ever pass up a chance to be seen suffering with his fellow Americans, but not this one and the flooding situation has been going on before he left to rub elbows.

Apparently ND doesn't have a large at risk population that complie BHO's constituency.

You can twist this to be about the president if you want. The fact is that he is one "political animal" of many. Why aren't you just as bothered by the many elephants that aren't taking up the cause and getting in front of the media about this?

I'm not trying to defend the man's sins of omission here. It just reeks of partisanship when *no one* is doing it and you only have a problem with one person's choice not to anything.

Not defend the man? Sins of ommission? You just said earlier that he may be doing it without us knowing. You stalk my every move on this board and anytime bHo's character is questioned, you're all over me defending him. There is no defense. And that one person I have a problem with is the Pres of the US, that's his duty, hell even Bush did a fly by of Katrina and got roasted for not caring and being on the ground, as was apropro.

And as for *No One* ? Wellllll, I have seen some clips, on the net, and heard radio interviews of the local pols, in particular and the mayors and govs, don't know what party, don't really care anymore, since about 2005, cause neither party is worth a bucket of warm spit. Also, I'm so tired of the partisanship card being played, along with other cards, when people don't like hearing a little truth.

But the MSM apparently doesn't find the story as interesting, since bHo isn't there. Lets face it, some people and the MSM just fawn over "you know who" and if he would've been there, I guarantee the press would've had it plastered all over the news, pics of film of him and his telepromter filling some sandbags.

It was just an observation, and someone took offense again.

    Have a good weekend.
