Here is a website for finding a vacation getaway spot- a rental home in a foreign country, or here in the USA:

Here is a neat one to consider-
A getaway to a Castle in Austria: http://www.holiday-rentals.co.uk/p44224
Or somewhere warm- like Greece:

Sounds like fun.
At least fun to dream.....

If I'm curt with you it's because time is a factor. I think fast, I talk fast and I need you guys to act fast if you wanna get out of this. So, pretty please... with sugar on top. Post the IFT!!!
I just bought my vacation getaway yesterday. Ten acres in the tall pines I love about two hours from my house. Life is good.

Congrats on that steel_flower.
FWIW over the last several years we have rented vacation homes in various locations. If you get a group together and split up the cost, it usually comes out to less than an upscale hotel/motel.
Last year we rented a 100,000 sq foot house in the middle of a ranch in MT. 9.2 people and 2 dogs.
Three years ago my wife and a gaggle of friends rented apartments in Paris and London while taking their bucket list vacation.
Of course you have to get together the right group and agree in advance on things like KP. Someone usually has to be the banker and deal with the owner.
We start looking for places on the internet but have ended up dealing directly with the owner or owner's agent in the end.
All around the world!
