Healthcare seems to work for Japan... why not make it a Gov. program. Too many people are getting richer from people who can barely afford health care.

If you want to see how government run healthcare will work, you need only to look at the VA. I'm a veteran with a service connected disability and I haven't gone to the VA for treatment in years. The formulary sucks, it takes forever to get an appointment, and they don't use many of the most advanced methods and equipment for treatment. They've gotten better with lost limbs, and I can't say anything about their psychology department, but I am less than impressed with the "services" I've sought from them in the past. Government run healthcare will be horrible.

I don't understand this logic. As of now the Republicans owns the executive branch and appointed/vetted the people who are running the treasury of this country. Congress controls the purse strings and this Democratic congress (majority by one slim vote) did initially vote down the biggest socialist package out there. Then over the weekend, many were scared into or bribed through added pork, voting for this executive branch sponsored wealth redistribution from the tax payers, who are a small fish in the market, to the companies who knew the risks of the market, but do not want to be held accountable for that risk. Socialism is here and it was this administration that pushed for it. Admittedly it's a backwards form of socialism, as the wealthy are not losing any money, but the pain is spend to all the tax payers instead of just the shareholders of these companies who are weeping over being caught in a downturn (we are always told that being in the market is a risk as you can lose money). Why do you think the Democrats will be worse? Were is the proof? Joe the Plumber? A total falsehood/lie about a man who said he wants to buy a business? Do you really think McCain will stop this march of reallocating money from the bottom up? Talk about the lie of trickle down - this is trickle up economics. I am really tired of the mudslinging with no truth or proof behind it all.

If we continue down this road after the Jan 2009, we still only have the current admin to blame for starting the ball rolling. I hope that the next admin can slow/stop/reverse this realocation of money to those who do not want to be accountable for their risks in markets. IMO

    Sweetheart,
First I sincerely appreciate the sacrifice you were willing to make on my behalf and on behalf of the USA. All the more (right or wrong) I appreciate your willingness to follow orders and get the job done, regardless of what that entailed.

I realize the SC Disability is a tax free monthy income for the duration of your life and I am glad that you get it - because you earned it.

The service the VA providers offer depends on the provider and is not a System wide problem. To a large degree it has become a system where "passing the buck" becomes the main endeavor so you don't have to fool with "the patient" and you do the minimal you need (but try to make it look good so "they" think they are getting good care). But I promise you the HMOs are every bit as bad.

I'm telling you this from the bottom of my heart. Most patients who meet me seem shocked to meet someone who spends the time to connect with them; to really listen; to elaborate on what is happening with them and highly determined to give them the best care possible. I AM VERY MUCH A PATIENT ADVOCATE and when I go to bat for someone - they get what they need.

In my situation ONE PERSON can make a very big difference; and that person can set the standard of quality care that all patients come to expect. Others my have to work a little harder and actually exert themselves (and resent me for making their life a little more difficult) but ONCE THAT STANDARD IS SET - it's hard to give less.

It's possible that the level of care has significantly improved since you were last at a VAMC. Many of your complaints have been resolved - appointments - formulary...

It all boils down to what Tom had said earlier:

If you're slanted towards one party - you will post things in favor of that party and against the other

There is no Logic - is all based on the individual's point of view

Trouble with that..there is nothing about McCain that warrents any fear for this country and all that it stands for if he is elected...On the other ticket, there is plenty to worry about as that FACTUAL Video below examines.....There's your LOGIC

BTW..in case you missed it Steady, I am Voting for Obama..so I will have the right to bitch about him when he fails us..

    Buster,

I agree with your comment regarding who you fear for this country more, but if so why the vote for obama, not that I've got any great love for McCain. I'm pretty dissappointed with both and MCCain has more than his share of warts. The only reason I'm voting for Mac is the lack of fear in regards to what was on the video, which is all documented and can be googled.

Buster, I promise that I did not mean my comment as an attack or underhanded comment against you.

What I was saying applies to each and every one of us (me and Malyla included). Everyone who votes for McCain is grounded in the belief that he is the better choice (even if it is simply because he is viewed as a less worse choice). The exact same thing could be said for those who vote for Obama.

So my point is: It is not a decision based on Logic; it is based on how we perceive this person or that and our interpretation of what they represent - especially that ONE POINT that is a personal deep conviction.

So it's more faith in what you hope is right; that's all I'm saying

    Considering the source

    USAWakeUp.org

anyone can point to something that supports their own agenda.
One good thing about our nation is that, people are free to vote their conscious. Now, if Obama gets the majority of the vote, then the people have spoken.

Besides, we've seen what almost 8 yrs of Repubs has done to our country.
America has tilted too far to the right and must be corrected.
Whoever wins this election will have a huge job on his hands. Bush has been a proponent of the A-76 agenda, contracting out jobs to the private sector. I guess that's ok with some folks here. Not me.....look at what happened with the NAATS unit in the FAA, and now Lockheed Martin is not only starting to remove those employees left over, but hiring their replacements at lower pay. Maybe that will be some of you soon.
    Hopefully not.
