Thread: new year's resolutions

No, because I never complete them... so why bother.

i have a bunch of resolutions, but i can't say most of them on a family channel. i can tell you this though...

i am going to try to cuss a lot less,
i am going to try to not think about boobs so much,
and i am going to not place such high value on making big money or a quick score.

after i accomplish all that, will somebody please prop me up beside the jukebox because it ain't gonna be much fun anymore anyways.

Cut down my consumption of soft drinks.

spend time with friends and family members I haven't seen in far too long-in multiple states

be a better listener

ohhh, that's a good one! all you have to do is increase your consumption of hard drinks and it all evens out.

Most people that know me know I have pretty high standards. I on the other hand, don't think my standards are high enough. Oftentimes we find ourselves in relationships where we are physically or emotionally mistreated or both. Best thing we can do is raise our standards and leave. My New Year's resolution is to raise my standards.

1. I will raise my standards and cut out any possibility of accepting less. If someone is not meeting my standards, I will cut them out of my life. If I am not meeting my owns standards, I will take action in order to improve. Either way, my standards will not be lowered.

2. I will not waste my time wishing that a person will change.

3. I will not accept less than I deserve.

4. I will not waste another moment of my life with someone who takes away from my joy.

after much soul-searching and internal debate, i've reached the conclusion that perhaps my inability to find a suitable partner has more to do with my impossibly high standards and 'never good enough' outlook on life. therefore, i resolve:

to accept and appreciate folks for who they are rather than attempt to mold them to my ideal image;
to not browbeat folks for being imperfect, rather find joy in their unique gifts;
and to have hope and faith that tomorrow always brings a new day instead of letting every bump in the road become a thermonukuler end of the world disaster.

let's face it, at my age and resource level all the princess charmings are gone, so it is going to have to take some compromise and tolerance on my part if i ever want to get laid.

basically, i resolve to lower my standards and see what life brings.

and i'm going to get a new watch, the old one was wound too tight.

A couple of years ago I cut out sugar / sweats from my diet. (I know it's in almost everything we eat so I didn't give it up completely.)

Last year it was red meat. Tough one for me.

This year I am thinking of cutting out wheat. I have just been hearing so many bad things about it. The problem is, no sugar, no red meat, no bread and pasta? There's not much left worth eating. Maybe I'll go with no cheese instead, although pizza has been part of my staple diet.

I need more time.
