    Default The Patio

I am doing nothing today. I love it.

Got up about 10, reheated some coffee and sat down on the patio. Lots of air traffic due to a local air show. Lots of ground traffic too and a good reason to stay home.

Wife came out about noon and asked if the tax returns were done. Replied "almost".

Wife came out a little later and asked about diapers for grandchildren for upcoming vacation. I replied that parents know about diapers and the last I had heard they were available in the vacation destination. Anyone know, do Canadians use diapers?

    I cracked a beer about 2PM.

Wife came out a little later and asked about buying cruise pass lanyards for grand kids. I asked if they were OSHA breakaway certified. I think I convinced her to let me handle that one.

Looking around the yard I noticed there is a clump of dandelions growing in the lawn. I don't see that many here. They have all ready gone to seed and blown away so no urgency there.

    4PM cracked another beer.

Patio is dirty and has leaves on it. About the time I decided to clean it off the wind picked up and more leaves came. Thank you wind, I might as well wait until you are done.

Wife mentioned a couple days ago she wants a Kindle Fire. OK, get it. Stated it would be for internet access and e-mail access while away from home. I asked how that worked. She said it just does. Short explanation of wireless hot spots, home wireless and 4G networks was offered. She asked me to check it out. Amazon makes all these claims about being connected anywhere and after you put the cheap device in your cart they start asking questions and the price goes up $200 and you can only start the 4G service through Amazon and not the provider. The provider (Verizon) confirms that but says it ought to "eventually" fit in to the existing service plan.

Time will tell. Best to humor post mental pause sig others if you can afford it. Happy wife, happy life.

It is now dark and I think I am expected to cook a meal. Never sure what is expected. I will grill pork loin and potatoes for breakfast- maybe.

I am starting this thread in the spirit of BSing and exchanging thoughts while slacking on the patio or balcony or whatever.

    Feel free to join in.

    Complaint-strikethrough text doesn't work.

Gettin more personal than I want to ask but I did advise my son that medical science knows how it happens now. She is the cutest little Kanuck I ever saw and I do love her in the DIL mode that is. Gotta splain everything to you lest you run away with it.

Welcome back to my patio. Hope all have had a good week.

    Random thoughts.

Why is the grass growing and the shrubs green since the irrigation system has been off since someone stole the controller months ago?

I should mow the grass but I am lazy after another 100 hour pay period.

Actually it was 99 hours, I am a slacker. [sarcastic font]

There are big white fluffy clouds in the sky. One looks like a bird.

The clouds are hardly moving, are they really clouds?

There is a Raven hanging around the yard. Go home Raven. No tricks, no spying!

I need to buy a new laptop. This D600 has three broken keys and is veeeery sloooow.

Can I really make Win8 open up to the desktop instead of the cartoon icons?

I should install the new irrigation controller but that means I have to program it and what if the same person steals this one?

Ha, the old one was not working too well anyway.

Can I mow the lawn in flip-flops? Yes, but not wise. OSHA, OSHA, OSHA 1910! Steel toes. Long Pants and sleeves. Safety glasses with side shields. Side shields at work. ANSI Z87 goggles. Electric mower. Fire retardant clothing? Arc Flash potential? Rubber gloves?

Not sure how D600 got you to the witch but no, I tried one of those old reliable mainframes but the wife kept running in to it when she pulled in to the garage or whacking it with the car door when she got out.
