    Things starting.

Will it be an active year? Or a normal year? Or a quiet year?

    We'll find out soon....

The way I understand it, we are under the influence of El Nino this year. That means that the possibly of major hurricanes hitting the Gulf of Mexico area is unlikely do to a change in the weather patterns. The winds will basically be blowing from the West and take the tops out of the storms before they can form into hurricanes.

This Weather Report is written by nnuut and is not guaranteed to be correct, nnuut holds no responsibility for damage caused by Hurricanes or other cyclonic storms hitting the continental USA in 2009.

Every year come June, I cross my fingers. My dad finally just last year got my sister's roof repaired from 05. He had to travel from the Rockies to get it done, don't think he'll be able to make that trip again, he's getting up there. Sis just doesn't have what it takes to get it done by herself.

As part of my job, I had to fly to Texas last year to inspect / repair damage to some of our South Texas sites... It was pretty bad around Houston... Check out this web link... It might be a useful tool for your family... Good Luck!!

Thanks AVguy. That 5day cone looks like Guillermo will stay out of the Gulf, that's what I like to see.

I would love to see this hurricane come up the Baja and dump some water on the southwest US. Doesn't look like that's gonna happen though.

The 5-day track forecast issued today shows staying south.
