    Default IRA

hey everyone i know there are some post on this but i've read around and noticed that some people have chosen to fund IRA's outside of TSP and am curious Can i contribute one for my wife even though she doesn't have a job? i say no job but raising a son and keeping the house together is harder than my job and i work in a prison. If not and she gets a part time job can i help contribute to her ira if she contributes to it?

ok so from my understanding is that as long as my wife and i file jointly she can use my income as her own to contribute to an ira. sweetness.
