We have a mini breakout in TSLA today, but that 160 area is where the rubber meets the road. I will add to my short position in the mid-to-high 150's with a stop a few points above 160.

This TSLA short had been working swimmingly until about 10 minutes ago. It had fallen all the way down to 137 (last post it was 152) but today they came out with news that they are 20% ahead of sales expectations, and the stock is jumping. We have a possible positive outside reversal day forming (depending where it closes). I am keeping my stop above the previous peak (above 160) so we'll see if investors are really interested, or if the poor chart formation will win out.

Ouch! Looks like they ran the stops near the close, and I was one of them. Closed at 161 and change.

You know what I just don't get?

I don't get why TESLA (TSLA)is trading at $237 a share, with a forward looking PE of 77; on 2.86 billion in sales, with a $- 1.35 LOSS on every share.

While at the same time, General Motors is priced at $31.67 a share, with a forward looking PE of 7, and a positive earnings of $1.56 a share, with sales of $156 BILLION dollars.

TESLA's price makes absolutely NO SENSE to me.

TSLA's chart just completed a bearish Head and Shoulders pattern a few weeks ago. It's getting drawn out, but it could still take a plunge. The same set up occured back in November of 2013 and it lost a good chunk in the short term.

It's a gamble, but they're paying up for the potential growth.

    4th quarter earnings estimates are $0.44 and 4th quarter of 2015 it's $3.04.

    2014 sales: $1.3 Billion, 2015: $6.2 Billion.

Brings me back to the ebay / amazon dot com days.

The Model X promises a top speed of 155 mph and will go from zero to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds. In terms of range, the 90 kWh battery pack will allow 250 miles on a single charge.

i am going to get one of these to tow behind my rock star party bus just as soon as i hit the lotto. in an enclosed trailer with an onboard charging system which is run by the diesel engine and backup generator which is powered by french fry grease or else some soybean derivative. it even has a bioweapons mode which means i won't have to breath toxic undead filth on my way out of dodge when the zombie apacolypse happens (you know it will sooner or later). also the doors look cool.

They are cool most if the time, but I think an onboard BBQ is neat!

Morgan Stanley analyst who missed the Tesla comeback sticks by call that it will drop 40%

Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas reiterated his $250 price target for Tesla stock, which could cut the car manufacturer’s valuation by about 40%.

The company has enjoyed a stellar few months that has launched its stock to new heights.

Jonas said the stock will likely continue to rise as the company reaches milestones, but that long term the stock will prove to be overvalued for a car manufacturer.
