No, I'm not investing in it. It's illegal and unhealthy (those are legal and scientific statements of fact, not an opinion); those factors constitute too great of an investment risks to touch it, or consider it in any long term.

You mean statements of alternate facts. Depends on where you use it/live, and how one uses it.

    Default Cannabis stocks

Canopy Growth in Canada- showing in its financials it is costing $1 a gram to produce the finished goods, while the income is over $7 a gram at the moment. Latest financials say the are selling just over 2k kilos a quarter.

    1. Tells me there is a tremendous growth opportunity, while lowering price points and increasing volume.

    2. That income is just from Canada.

Ground floor opportunity. I wish I had the cash to invest.

I am eligible to retire starting about a year from now. I am looking forward to that — and being able to do further, more detailed and comprehensive market research.

Well, the Federal government, and ONLY the Federal government, regulates drugs. NO States, not Counties, and especially not voters with zero pharmacological knowledge. This isn't even opinion, it is law. The sole exception might be constitutional amendment, but that is not b4 us. It is absolutely illegal. There is no more unhealthy manner of use than allowing ad libitum, unlimited use, without prescription, administered in the form of inhaled smoke of raw plant product. It is particularly abused by kids, who it is established, by published science, experience irreversible learning development issues as a result.

A really bad idea to use it, illegal, hence a poor long term investment.

I honestly can't think of a worse investment idea than Cannabis. Bitcoin is incredibly risky, but doesn't have the explicit illegality, or health risk, or, in the special case of cannabis, the risk of Federal enforcement of existing law at any time. This latter investment risk appears to vary with the current President and his cabinet, which includes conservative Sessions.

    So there...happy new year!!!

Curious Amoeba- what makes you think only the federal government regulates drugs? What state are you in? My state has an entire regulatory scheme and laws that regulate drugs. No one has ever found those laws to be unconstitutional.

The Federal Government also banned alcohol in the 20's. Cannabis has medicinal purposes and the Federal Government refuses the medical community facts. I'm not for recreational cannabis but why not for medicinal reasons?
May the force be with us.
