    Default 2010 Pay Raise

PAY RAISE IS A DONE DEAL- 1.5% Base, 0.5% towards locality.

The 2010 federal pay increase is comprised of a base increase of 1.5% and an average of 0.5% increase to locality. The locality increase overrides the President's request.

I'll take it. It's not a zero or worst, a reduction in pay(to help pay for GS's $17B bonus).

I'll take it...I remember through the 8 miserable years with Reagan..We the Federal employee had either our January pay frozen every year, along with Step increases..plus we had the doom of impending furloughs or RIFS hangin over our heads all the time.

How is this better than a flat 2% raise? I can see if you're in a high cost area but what about the RUS folks?

i'll take the 1.5% and be thankful for it, last i heard the seniors get nothing.

there's benefits that payoff bigger than 0.5% for RUS, ever heard of inflation?

Beats a sharp stick in the eye, indeed. Things could be worse, just have to weather the storm sometimes.

RUS folks will most likely receive a raise larger using locality numbers, than a flat raise would have been. They have not yet put firm numbers on anything yet, but the recommendations from the Federal Salary Council show that many areas had a smaller pay gap than the RUS grouping, which would indicate that RUS would get a higher raise than these cities would get:

We'll just have to wait until all is said and done to find out which cities get how much of a raise. If you are in one of the cities here, you are likely to get LESS than the RUS raise. If you are in a locality other than here, and not in the RUS, your raise will most likely be larger.

I've never gotten any step increases because the FAA's AF chose to go with pay bands. I've never gotten to a step one of the GS level I am supposedly equal to. But I'm glad to have a job and to be getting any kind of a raise. I just work alongside people who are making tons of cash and are telling me to buy a new car with "all my money." Little do they know the need for a budget.

    Fabijo-

You need to bid on a job as an instructor in Ok City under the FG/GS pay system. Ask Buster. He'll tell ya they are still FG employees in PAACE. http://www.paace-okc.org/

    Example job: http://jobs.faa.gov/announcement_det...?vac_id=119118

Go to Ok City, spend a few years there, then transfer out after you've climbed the ladder for a bit.
