    Default New home sales

Speaking of real estate, there appears to be some good news for a change.

Take a look at this graphic- citing total new home sales over the last 20 years. Looks like we finally have a change in direction of the "off the cliff" decline that has been killing us for the past three years.

It's not much to go on, but heck- I'll take any positive sign I can find these days!

Looks just like the jagged edge of the rest of the chart.

After four years of declines, home sales on a national basis finally appear to be turning around. Closed sales, which have risen three straight months, and pending contracts, up for five straight months, are at levels above normal spring and summer increases.
