that would work for some, bc, but probably not for most here. I know I'm not made that way, I just want to keep them from scoring any more of my after-tax $. they're not entitled.

So I finally got my BAC points card (to replace the basic worthless card) after a month of waiting. The interest rate is 22.22% and they dropped by credit from $22,000 to $10,000. They really push those balance transfers hard. I think they figure that for the most part the ones who do it are in trouble as it is so they probably will end up paying big rates for large amounts once the teaser expires.

I've been a cardholder since 1996 and honestly, I've probably used it no more than 8 times. I classify it as a 'disaster card'. If something goes awry and we are strapped for cash, I can whip this thing out and use it. I used it for a few small things just to keep the account active last week because like Alevin said, they could just drop you like a hot potato. The reason they dropped my credit balance and nearly doubled my rate is because, "after reviewing your history, we believe this better suits your needs". I get enough company line, CYA-BS at work. I don't need to get it in my mailbox.

BofA sux, and when they started giving cards to borrowers where no social security number was needed, I said Fthis I'm outta here. I was a business customer for over 10 years then with 80-110k flowing through a year.
Our postal credit union is awesome. Their visa is a flat 12% (or close) and all accounts are kept locally, no mbna or the like.
Aside from our mortgage with Chase, which is coupled with the Union Plus program through the AFL-CIO, you would have to drag me kicking and screaming to open any account at a big bank.

My BAC card is at 8.24% - it must be the age difference.

I had two paid off Discover cards - they came back with a 0% on both for twelve months. So I used one to pay off a Chase card at 17.99% and used the rest to bite down my BAC card. I still think it's my age that makes the difference or else they've been spying in on the oceanic account.

I received notice from my Wells Fargo paid off card - they are offering 7.24% for purchases. I think I'll let them dangle for awhile. Soon most credit will be offered free - you pay annual fees for use.

Had a co-worker tell me BofA called him last week, said a $1600 charge attempted from the United Arab Emirates. They sent him a new card.
Be prepared for a breach announcement........unless I missed it.

I read yesterday where there were some illegal scanners set up in some BAC banks in Seattle, set at the entry doors as well as at ATMs. that could be whats going on with your friend-his card got scanned, the information got sold.

"...you pay annual fees for use..."

I pay a fee if I do NOT use the card. But I also pay no interest because I pay it off.

They did it again. On my card that was originally an MBNA card, BoA has reissued the card (again) as a World points 'because it better serves my needs'. I noticed on the statement that the number had changed and called them up. They never notified me of this changed but made it seem like they were doing me a favor. I asked for my old number back and they said it was impossible. I wish they would just stop the games and admit to a breach. If they ever try to impose a fee for non-use, I will cancel the card even though I have been a member (MBNA member) for 25 years. I am getting tired of the credit card shuffle. There has to be a better way to handle exchanges for goods and services.
100% I August 14 (cob 8/14). Trying it again until Oct.
