    Delta and NW have been in trouble for years. Not "too big to fail" but "can't lose those spaces we bought at the airports." Last ditch effort to keep business and do a more organized downgrade, rather than one going bankrupt and everyone trying to pick up the best pieces.

    They better not stop handing out the free first class upgrade coupons, because that has kept me a 100% Northwest customer for years. I only had to fly coach once in about the last ten trips because I goofed and lost my Elite status for a year. I'm a bit concerned things may go downhill fast after Delta takes over...I have no idea how they scared up the cash to buy a better airline than their own.
