Not now. Since the first trading day of the first quarter of 2012, Apple, Inc. advanced a whopping 48.04%! Compared to the best TSP S fund buy and hold performance of 14.45%; this is a 33.59% improvement as shown in the chart below.
While working out at the gym years ago (2004), my wife purchased an Apple mini ipod gizmo. It did not take long for me to realize that they were on to something. After trying it, I had to have one, and soon I noticed so did everyone else. The devices came out in a spray of colors, attached to an armband or fit into a pocket and loaded up a zillion itunes. Little did I know that there would be an Apple ixxx revolution with all kinds of muti-function voice and picture communication and computer devices including phones, pads and other peripherals. The apple revolution was no less than a blow-up fire. Even the i must be genius, as it may send a subliminal message that it is mine, and got to have one? Whether it was the new pad release or what, the stock price just exploded in the first quarter of 2012.
It is interesting to note that institutions (the heavy lifters in volume) control 69% of the total stock ownership, as of 12/31/11. So, this is one stock to watch to see what institutions are doing. Where is it headed now? The next chart suggests we see a pullback to the 525 area, before continuing higher. Basically Apple, Inc. has come too far too fast and needs to move back towards the 50 ema, but of course anything can happen.
