Daily Market Commentary

Stocks were mixed on Wednesday with the Dow giving back 65 of Tuesday's 160+ point gain. The large cap techs kept the pressure on and managed a small gain for the Nasdaq, but the S&P 500 and small caps posted slight losses. The I-fund led as the dollar lost 0.78% on Wednesday.

Stocks were FAANG'ed again on Tuesday as the top Tech stocks pulled the rest of the market up with them. Small caps continue to bounce strongly off of its recent lows and the S&P 500 is now flirting with 2600. The Dow gained 161-points, or 0.69%. The Nasdaq led with those FAANG stocks having big days.

Stocks rallied modestly on Monday with the Dow gaining 72-points with smaller gains for the S&P 500 and Nasdaq. Small caps led on the upside again while the I-fund ran into some strength in the dollar to hold it back a bit.

Stocks were mostly lower on Friday with the Dow falling 100-points and most indices fading into the close posting small to moderate losses. The small caps were the outlier as they posted a solid gain to make it the only positive TSP Fund, outside of the G-fund, to post a gain (+0.20%) for the week.

Stocks rebounded on Thursday erasing the losses of the prior two days. The Dow jumped 187-points on the day, or +0.8%, as the dip buyers mocked the bears after their first 0.5% decline in two months on Wednesday. It was a broad rally across most indices and for now the bulls have been able to defend the support that was being tested.
