The rare pre / post Christmas loss (although minor)

After a surprising small loss on the trading day before Christmas, the market followed up with an equally surprising loss on the day after. Like Friday, the loss was minimal but historically that is a rare feat. The Dow lost 8-points, the S&P 500 was down 0.11% while the Nasdaq took a more meaningful hit with a 0.34% loss. Small caps and the I-fund were the outliers picking up a small gains, and bonds rallied.
Daily TSP Funds Return

If the Dow closes positive in December, and it's currently up 1.95%, it will be the longest monthly winning streak in nearly 59 years as both the Dow and S&P 500 have posted positive returns for each of the last 9 months.

It was a very slow, uneventful day yesterday and the charts barely showed any movement, so for that reason I am going to take advantage and take a little holiday break and cut this short. Volatility should pick up as the week moves along and as that happens we'll do more analysis.
