Slow, pre-Holiday like trading.

Stocks were up but mostly flat on Wednesday with gains in the 0.05% to 0.18% range. The action is slow and positive with light volume, almost as if it's a holiday week. The Dow did gain 39-points and led the way, while the Transports posted a modest loss, as did the I-fund with the dollar finally showing some life.

Daily TSP Funds Return

The flat action gives me an excuse to cut this short. There was some late buying but for the most part little happened during the day.

The SPY (S&P 500 / C-fund) closed at a new high with yesterday's slight gain. 251 - 252 could pose some resistance if the rally moves any higher from here, and on the downside the open gap is an obvious potential target if there is a pullback.

The DWCPF (small caps / S-fund) was on the flat side as it slows down at some resistance areas. This has come a long way in just a few week.

The Nasdaq made a new closing high although it came a little short of the intraday high made in July. It's hard to find anything wrong here except for the open gap that may need filled, and the fact that it has come a long way in the last few weeks and may need a break.

The EFA (EAFE Index / I-fund) pulled back as the dollar actually posted a big gain. It was nearing overhead resistance and there were two large gaps below, so we shouldn't be too surprised. What is more surprising is that U.S. stocks haven't done this yet.

The AGG (Bonds / F-fund) was down again and broke through another layer of support. This shows that the bond market seems to be less concerned about the safety trade, a big change from just a few days ago. Yields are moving higher so perhaps the economic growth picture is looking up?
