Another mixed day with a Nasdaq reversal

Rate this Entry
It was a strange day for stocks on Thursday as we saw another wide range of results depending on the index. The Dow shined with an 86-point gain but there was a nasty reversal on the Nasdaq that caught the attention of the technical analysts. The S&P was basically flat again after a late rebound, but small caps took a 0.54% loss.

The large caps, particularly the old school types like McDonald's have been performing well, but we'll see if the big negative reversal in the Nasdaq has some meaning behind it. The Transports also posted a nasty day losing over 3% on the day.

I have a very busy schedule and terrible internet connection over the next few days and into next week so I may not be available to respond to emails right away, and the next few commentaries should be very brief.

The Premium Service System signals will be posted in the premium area as needed, as usual. Sorry for any inconvenience.

The SPY (S&P 500 / C-fund) bounced back from a sharp intraday decline on Thursday, caused by some that reversal in the Nasdaq, which got investors on edge for a while before doing some buying into the close.

The Dow Transportation Index was the interesting index yesterday as it plummeted more than 3% and clearly this market leading chart is showing a major breakdown. The 200-day EMA held last time at it lokos to be heading in that direction again.

Thanks for reading. Have a great weekend!
