Stocks continue to bounce back and forth in a very tight range above the July highs. This is very unusual action, this mostly sideways to very slightly higher action that has gone on for about 5 weeks. The Dow lost 23-points while the S&P 500 was flat and small caps posted a modest gain.

Reminder: I am taking a few days off this week and will be making commentaries brief, and thankfully, the market has cooperated by remaining in a tight range with low volatility.
The SPY (S&P 500 / C-Fund) was flat and continues to move sideways consolidating above the 20-day EMA and the the old resistance line. That's really all the analysis at this point. You can read anything you want into it but the bottom line is stocks are hanging around the all-time highs and it's a matter of who blinks first - the bull or bears.
