Buoyant stocks

Stocks remained buoyant as the bears have apparently stepped aside again after trying to take a stand on Monday. The buying wasn't heavy, but it was the lack of sellers that seemed to keep the indices afloat. The Dow gained 33-points.

Daily TSP Funds Return
The small caps had a big day and competed a two-day rally that recaptured Monday's losses. The I-fund was down slightly with the dollar being up again, and the F-fund was flat.

It wasn't a huge day, but the SPY (S&P 500 / C-fund) made a new high yesterday, and more importantly for us watching the inverted head and shoulders pattern, pushed back above the neckline resistance. There was a somewhat similar pattern in September where the S&P made a brief new high, that turned out to be a short-term peak.

The
Wilshire 4500 (S-fund) is now back to where it was last Friday, before Monday's sell-off. Whatever spooked the small caps on Monday has apparently resolved itself. It is still below some key resistance so it's not out of the woods yet.

The
EFA (EAFE Index / I-fund) posted a small loss and remains in limbo between the 50 and 200-day EMAs.

The dollar's strength continues to hold the I-fund back. There is a possible rising wedge that could be testing resistance soon, and rising wedges tend to break downward.

Today is trading day #4 and the seasonality becomes a bit of a headwind for the next couple of weeks.

The AGG (Bonds / F-fund) was down again and looking for support after the short-term trend recently reversed to the downside.
