Stocks were mixed yesterday as the Dow and S&P 500 saw slight gains, while the Nasdaq, small caps and international stocks saw modest losses.

For the TSP, the C-fund was up 0.02% yesterday, the S-fund lost 0.40%, the I-fund fell 0.26%, and the F-fund (bonds) gained 0.06%.

It was a very quiet day on the lightest trading volume of the year, and it did little to change the technical picture. The S&P 500 is still testing the 2011 highs, while trading between the new wide ascending trading channel.

The market leading Dow Transportation Index is the top of the descending trading channel and is in a short-term battle between the 20 and 50-day EMA's.

As we talked about yesterday, this is an options expiration week which does have a positive historical bias, while the week after options expiration week tends to be slightly worse than a random week.
