Stocks fell early this week after Trump's immigration ban executive order was not taken well by most to say the least. Dip buyers showed up during the later half of Tuesday but couldn't continue the action into Wednesday. The Fed met this week but did not have much to say as they are likely waiting to see how Trump's presidency effects markets during his first few months before continuing to increase interest rates.

The early losses were reclaimed Friday when a good jobs report, among other things, catalyzed early buying to put the S&P 500's head above water. The jobs report posted an addition of 227,000 jobs with unemployment up to 4.8%

The TSP stock funds were all in positive territory for the week with the S-fund leading with a 0.56% gain. The F-fund lagged with a loss of 0.05% for the week.

The SPY (S&P 500 / C-fund) fell back within the trading channel it broke out of the week before. The index stayed in the trading channel until it gapped up out of it Friday leaving an open gap behind. The C-fund was up 0.16% for the week.




The Dow Completion Index (S-fund) also fell under the resistance line of the last couple months after breaking above it the week before. Just like SPY though, the index was back above the resistance on Friday. The S-fund led the TSP funds for the week with a gain of 0.56%.




EFA (EAFE Index / I-fund) gapped down Monday but filled that open gap by Wednesday. The index ended the week near the top of rising resistance but the I-fund produced just a 0.04% gain for the week.




AGG (Bonds / F-fund) continues to struggle with resistance and is in need of a rally to break free. This will be likely if stocks sell-off next week and traders are looking for a safe place to invest. The F-fund lagged the TSP funds as it was down 0.05% for the week.
