Stocks continued the rally triggered by last Friday's jobs report into this week . The market flattened out Wednesday which was then followed by a gap up Thursday. The tragic news concerning Nice, France was followed by some profit taking Friday, filling the open gap produced Thursday.

With stocks up, bonds were down giving the F-fund the only negative return for the TSP funds. The I-fund led with more than a 3% gain for the week.




Here are the weekly, monthly, and annual TSP fund returns for the week ending July 15th:




The SPY (S&P 500 / C-fund) continued to increase above the resistance line created by April and June highs. Friday's pull back broke below steep rising support that began at the Brexit sell-off. An open gap still lingers below but upwards momentum is on the SPY's side as far as short-term direction. The C-fund was up 1.51% for the week.




The Dow Completion Index (S-fund) has yet to reach the resistance line of its April and June highs giving more legitimacy to its recent rallies. Four open gaps still linger below and it would be plausible to see some of the top gaps filled soon. The S-fund out-performed the C-fund this week with a gain of 1.86%.




EFA (EAFE Index / I-fund) is still in the works of filling the large open gap left behind after the Brexit sell-off. It has produced a couple of new open gaps within the large open gap as it rallied Monday and Tuesday. The I-fund led the TSP funds with a gain of 3.02% for the week.




AGG (Bonds / F-fund) has turned around from its recent increase and has dropped to fill an open gap as well as droped back within its multi-month trading channel. Three open gaps are below with one in arms length for AGG. The lowest open gap is now below the support line for the trading channel so that will be interesting to see how the works out. The F-fund dropped 0.77% for the week.
