    Stocks showed little direction this week with the exception of a rally on Tuesday sparked by Paul Ryan's comments on tax cuts; a subject that will continue to grab the attention of investors. Stocks pulled back the very next day and neither the bulls or bears were able to take control. Janet Yellen's anticipated speech in Jackson Hole was a bit of a disappointment on Friday. Nothing significant was said so traders and algorithms alike were not sure how to react.

  2. TSP Talk Weekly Wrap Up

    Stocks opened up Monday after the Charlottesville incident in over the weekend distracted investors from the North Korean drama that was held responsible for the poor action the previous week. Although the early gains held for the first half of the week, drama within the White House provoked selling after the resignations of some members of Trump's business council. The selling carried throughout Thursday but relief was provided momentarily Friday after traders bought the news of the resignation ...
  3. TSP Talk Weekly Wrap Up

    Stocks were mixed this week as we saw a slight gain in large caps with some losses in small caps. The S&P 500 (C-fund) traded in a tight range for the week despite catalysts from earnings reports and the jobs report Friday. Stocks seemed to have lost their momentum we've seen the past few months but this has not yet provoked stock owners to sell. It will be interesting to see what will be the spark of the next big move in the market; though algorithms will most likely decided that one.
