    Stocks ended the week with gains but the highs of the week were seen on Monday. From there the gains slipped and the action became choppy and the weekly returns hovered between positive and negative territory.     Again we see a week with no real trend. Stocks were mixed all around ithin the major indices, which makes it hard to pin point what exactly is on trader's minds these days.

    Big opportunities can be found at the individual stock levels but TSP funds will average out the good and the bad. Navigating between the good averages and the bad averages is what will ultimately maximize your return. Easier said than done of course.

    Stocks were mixed this week as we saw small losses in the large caps (C-fund) and small gains in small caps (S-fund). The action was tight this week coming off last week's jobs report which seemed to initially attract buyers. That did not continue into this week as news events such as the UK election and Comey's testimony couldn't provoke too much movement in any direction.     Stocks were down early in the short post-holiday week but buyers kicked it into gear once some needed technical alterations were taken care of and we saw new highs in a few of the major indices. Tuesday's early drop filled some open gaps attracting buyers who showed up for the last hour of trading. This momentum carried on the next two days to put stocks up more than 1% for the week.
