  2. March madness continues

    Stocks opened sharply higher yesterday, then drifted mostly sideways until the Fed meeting policy statement, which triggered another spike higher. The Dow closed up 56-points.

    Stocks opened higher yesterday, moved into negative territory in the afternoon, then climbed back, and in the Dow's case, closed in positive territory. The Dow gained 4-points while the TSP stock funds lost between 0.2% and 0.4% on the day.

  4. Cyprus shake-up - not so bad

    Stocks opened lower yesterday on the news out of Cyprus, but not quite as bad as the overnight futures had indicated.

    The emotional Monday morning action saw buyers jump on the early triple digit loss in the Dow, and take it back into positive territory, before selling picked up again in late trading. The Dow closed down 62-points.

  5. Semis

    03/18/13

    Stocks slipped on Friday, ending the long winning streaks we had seen in most of the major indices. The Dow lost 25-points, which is nothing compared to the recent gains, and amazingly, it was the first negative Friday in 2013.
