Stocks opened higher yesterday, moved into negative territory in the afternoon, then climbed back, and in the Dow's case, closed in positive territory. The Dow gained 4-points while the TSP stock funds lost between 0.2% and 0.4% on the day.

Stocks opened lower yesterday on the news out of Cyprus, but not quite as bad as the overnight futures had indicated.

The emotional Monday morning action saw buyers jump on the early triple digit loss in the Dow, and take it back into positive territory, before selling picked up again in late trading. The Dow closed down 62-points.

Stocks slipped on Friday, ending the long winning streaks we had seen in most of the major indices. The Dow lost 25-points, which is nothing compared to the recent gains, and amazingly, it was the first negative Friday in 2013.

OPEX week ended with the major averages posting significant gains. It's been up, up, up since the beginning of the year with few opportunities to buy a dip. Here's this week's charts:



The Top 50 saw a very modest dip in stock allocations, going from 98% last week to 96% this week. The trend has been up and those folks who've been sticking with the S fund this year make up the majority of the TSPers in this group.

It was another week of stocks starting in the lower left hand corner on the chart, and ending in the top right. Momentum is on the bulls' side and the positive economic data has justified the move, but have stocks gone too far, too fast?
