    I was not able to post my blog yesterday as the site was down for maintenance. I am providing a bit of commentary this morning, but without charts (I'll try to add them later this evening).

    First, the Top 50 reduced their overall stock exposure by more than 17% going into this week's trading.   2. Leaders rolling over

    04/22/13

    Stocks rallied on Friday although the Dow was only up 10-points because of the 8% decline in Dow Component IBM after a weak earnings report. The broader indices saw gains near 1%.

  3. TSP Talk Weekly Wrap-Up


    Volatility picked up last week as the Dow started the week with a 266-point loss on Monday, then a 158-point gain on Tuesday, another 138-point loss on Thursday, then an 81-point loss on Thursday and, even though the Dow was up only 10-points on Friday, the S&P 500 was up almost 1% on the day. IBM's weaker than expected earnings report put pressure on the Dow.

    It's been a tough week, I've been at home on Conv. leave, watching the markets in real-time and it hasn't been any fun when it's tanking and so are your positions.   5. Changing character?

    04/19/13

    Stocks opened higher yesterday, but the gains did not last long as the Dow quickly moved into negative territory, and closed down 81-points. The results were about the same across the indices with losses in the area of about one half of one percent.
