Stocks were mixed on Friday with the Dow gaining 42-points while the S&P 500 and small caps lost almost 0.4%. The I-fund may have to give some of Friday's gains back today since weakness in U.S. stocks came later in the day on Friday. Bonds were up slightly.

The week started out with a steep sell-off with the Dow losing 179-points on Monday. There was a snap-back rally on Tuesday and into Wednesday, but by the end of the week the results were mixed. Bonds had another positive week and continue to lead the way in 2014.

Stocks were mixed and the 65-point loss in the Dow didn't really represent the what was happening to the broader market indices. The S&P 500 only lost a couple of points while the small caps were up slightly. The I-fund was flat and bonds had a bounce back day.

Stocks continued their rebound yesterday as the Dow posted another triple digit gain, pushing the indices into the green for the week, and back into the green for the year. In the case of the C and I-funds, just barely positive, but after two major sell-offs this January, the bulls have to be happy to be seeing positive returns.
