  1. TSP Talk Weekly Wrap Up


    Stocks were mixed last week with the Dow and S&P 500 (C-fund) posting minor weekly losses, while the small caps and the I-fund posted nice gains. Bonds (F-fund) were up slightly, but still beat the G-fund.

  2. Stocks refuse to die


    Despite being quite overbought, stocks rallied again. Everyone seems to be waiting for the rug to be pulled out from under it, but this market refuses to die. The Dow gained 93-points, while small caps led the way, and the I-fund had to pay some bills.

  3. Negative reversal?


    Stock rallied strongly on Wednesday morning, but peaked and later fell apart in late afternoon trading. The damage wasn't bad, but the negative outside reversals could be setting up some additional short-term weakness. The Dow lost 89-points, but it seemed worse because of the huge reversal after being up nearly 100 earlier.

  4. Indices mixed


    It was a mostly quiet day on Tuesday although we did see some wildly mixed action in a few of the major indices. The Dow was slightly lower most of the day and weak close left it down 24-points, while the S&P 500 closed slightly higher. The Nasdaq, small caps, and the I-fund all had strong days, but the Transportation Index was down sharply. Bonds were up.

  5. Testing the highs


    Despite a weak open on Friday, stocks rallied again as the Dow led way with a 127-point (+0.8%) gain. The broader indices did not do quite as well, but they all tacked on modest gains. Bonds were down slightly.
